In 1987, the Southern California Institute of Technology (SCIT) was founded. Electronics/Computer Technology was the Institute’s initial program. SCIT relocated to its current campus in January 2013. 

The Southern California Institute of Technology (SCIT) was established to provide effective, high-quality education with a focus on employing technology to benefit our community and enhance the public good. Is Getting Into Southern California Institute of Technology Difficult? 

Being accepted to Southern California Institute of Technology isn’t difficult because the institution has an open admissions policy. However, some basic requirements, such as a high school diploma or equivalent, may be necessary. Before submitting your application, double-check that it is complete. 

Requirements for Admission 

A person must meet the following requirements in order to be admitted to Southern California Institute of Technology:

SCIT offers a standardized entrance exam. 

Complete an interview and a facility visit.

Admissions Application All applicants must first fill out an admissions application form, which includes both common inquiries (such as name, age, etc.) and questions about the applicant’s educational background. It simply takes a few minutes to complete an application at the Admissions Office during regular business hours. We accept applications on a continuous basis. It may be beneficial for applicants to bring an official high school transcript or have the contact information for the high school they attended available to speed up the application process.

Entrance Examination 

SCIT has its own entrance exam that assesses an applicant’s understanding of core content required of all new students. There are two (2) parts to the exam: verbal and math, both of which are multiple choice questions (there is no essay). Students will have 30 minutes to finish the exam, which will be conducted at SCIT. The exam is given on a regular basis; please contact the Admissions Office for information on exam dates and hours. Tour & Interview 

During the application process, all applicants will have the opportunity to meet and interview with an Admissions Representative for roughly one hour. A tour of the classrooms, campus, and instructional labs will also be offered to them. The goal of the interview is for us to tell you about the educational options available at SCIT, and for you to tell us about your academic ambitions. Our goal is for you to have enough information about our programs following the interview so that you can make an informed decision about whether SCIT is a good fit for your academic ambitions. We’ll also look at whether you’ll profit from our programs and contribute constructively to our campus community. They look for devotion to their education, determination to make a positive difference in their lives and communities, and a desire to learn by doing in applications. The program’s purpose is to prepare students for entry-level jobs as industrial engineering technologists, technicians, or other related fields. 

Biomedical Engineering (B.S.) 

By bridging themes between electronics engineering and the physiological sciences, the Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering (BSBE) curriculum teaches students to numerous medical applications of electronic-based devices. Biomechanics, biomaterials, and medical instruments design are some of the topics covered. Through instructional lab activities, students learn to apply concepts learned in class. 

Electrical Engineering (B.S.) 

The BSEE program focuses on utility and industrial aspects of electrical engineering, such as electrical energy generation and transmission, factory automation systems, and robotics. Industrial automation, robotics, power systems, and electrical CAD are among the topics covered. The courses combine engineering fundamentals with hands-on experiments to provide a well-rounded education. 

Electronic Engineering (B.S.) 

The Bachelor of Science in Electronic Engineering (BSEE) curriculum introduces students to electronic systems and their applications in a variety of industries, including healthcare, telecommunications, and consumer goods. Students learn the fundamentals of electronics and progress to designing analog and digital systems. 

Information Systems (B.S.) 

The Bachelor of Science in Information Systems (BSIS) degree focuses on the problems and practical issues associated with developing and maintaining computer data systems. Network security, virtualization, web technology, and databases are among the topics covered. Students apply what they’ve learned in class to projects based on real-world IT issues.
