Monash University was built in 1958 but first opened in the year 1961 with about 363 students, but now, she’s Australia’s largest university with over 30,000 students yearly. to qualify for admission into Monash University, you have to meet minimum requirements but they do not guarantee you an admission to the school as they may not be enough places for all applicants.

A lot of courses have high demands in entry requirements, some vital studies or extra requirements such as interviews and folios.

Undergraduate Admissions

All applicants with Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) must have completed 8 units at level 3 and 4, with English. You also need an ATAR score of 70 and above. Applicants with Interstate year 12 qualification that’s equivalent to VCE, plus an accredited year 12 course of English are also allowed.

Applicants should have completed the International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma, inclusive of English Satisfactorily. Also he or she should have completed at-least two or three units at an Australian Institute or at Open Universities. Completion of Diploma of Tertiary Studies(DoTS) is part of the minimum requirements needed for entry into some of the undergraduate courses.

Applicants with satisfactory completion of theMonash University Foundation Year (MUFY) can apply. Also one can apply with an advanced certificate (certificate IV or above) or diploma equivalent to minimum secondary school qualifications. Satisfactory completion of final year secondary school, or its equivalent, inclusive of English is acceptable.

If you’ve completed of the New Zealand National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA) with English or you’ve Completed the Gaokao ( for minimum scores) you can apply as well.

Masters Admissions;

Applicant must have honours or its equivalent with a major in the same or related area of study. If your qualification results are not in English, please produce certified translated copies. Monash prefers copies from The National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI).

Doctoral Admissions;

Applicant should be with honours or its equivalent with a major in the same or related area of study or should have a Masters with significant research component as well.

Requirements for international students

Applicants who are not from The Commonwealth Supported places (CSP) with a complete or incomplete foreign tertiary qualification are usually assessed on a case-by-case basis. You can check if your foreign qualification is in-line with the standard by using the study credit and admissions search. If your country and/or the qualification does not show in the database, you can apply nonetheless with your results. they will assess them and see whether they.

To comply with Australian law your application will be assessed to check that you are genuinely seeking temporary entry to Australia to study. If the University forms the opinion that you are not a Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) it may refuse to assess your admission documents.

Other requirements;

Some Monash University courses require that you have a Police Check. The timing and frequency are dependent on the course.

A Police Check may not be needed at the point of admission or when entering into the course, but you will still need to go complete the check before you start work placements or any professional experience in the school. Most courses require only a one-off Police Check, while the others require the check to be done annually.

Minimum age (17) and English are two general requirements. For international students fees are per 48 credit points, which is a standard full-time course load annually.
